Şirince was settled when Ephesus was abandoned in the 15th century but most of what one sees today dates from the 19th century. Şirince is one of the best places to taste local wines and to buy local souvenirs. It is one of the best places to try local dishes too. Turkish and international food can be easily found at many restaurants in the village. Also, it is one of the rare places giving us a glance at the area’s old greek roots with its unique architecture. Stone-paved streets can be hard to walk for some people but still, it is worth a visit. Also, the little village hosts one mosque and church, making it a unique place welcoming two religions at the same time.
